Not nearly as good as his previous album "Thugged Out" Yukmouth still puts together a notable album. Not nearly the guest appearances as in "Thugged Out," "Thug Lord" still has some good guests including C-Bo, Kurupt, Nate Dogg, Kokane, Outlawz, and The Regime. "Regime Killers" is the best track on the album. It has a lot of guests in the Regime. Tech N9ne stands out on this track, but the entire track still has heat. Yukmouth finishes the track with another diss of Master P. "So Ignorant" is the second best track on the album, but a distant second. The track features Kurupt, Nate Dogg and Kokane. It has a good beat and good lyrics. "Do it Right" and "Smile" both featuring C-Bo are also notable tracks. This album could have been much better, but the success of "Thugged Out" makes "Thug Lord" look like a second rate album. It is still a good album all around, but it might have had more success if it would have been released before "Thugged Out." Overall an ok album, basically for Yukmouth fans only.
