BORN:
November 10, 1971 Warren G grew up in Long Beach, real name Warren Griffin III. When he was a teenager Warren G formed a rap group with his friends, Nate Dogg and Snoop Doggy Dogg called 213 after their area code. They all spent time in jail. Their local record store V.I.P allowed them to and record in a back room. They made a demo called 'Super Duper Snooper'. Warren G played the song to his half Brother Dr Dre at a party. Dr Dre asked them to to his studio where they appeared on The Chronic. Warren G's first appearance was with Mista Grimm on the Poetic Justice soundtrack with 'Indo Smoke' . Warren G made his debut album in 1994 called 'Regulate...G Funk Era. He had a massive hit single with Nate Dogg called 'Regulate'. The song appeared on the Above the Rim soundtrack. Warren G's next album was released in 1997 called Take a look over your shoulder. He had hits with 'I shot the Sheriff' and 'Whats love got to do with it'. In 1999 Warren G's third album was released called 'I want it all'. In 2001 he released Return of Da Regulator. |
